The Calumet Wolverines lost 7-4 to Mosinee and 10-8 to Monroe this weekend despite shot advantages in both contests. The Wolverines are now 2-10-0 on the season, and are heading into a key six-game home stand.
The Wolverines played from behind the entire game in Mosinee, but kept pressure on the Papermakers throughout, keeping the game within one for the majority of play. Logan Rastello had two goals and an assist, while Levi and Jeff Erkkila both had a goal and two assists. Jason Rank made 32 saves in his first start of the season.
Saturday night in Monroe the Wolverines jumped out to a 3-0 lead before giving up eight of the next nine goals. The team battled back to within one late in the third period with four power-play goals, but couldn’t net the equalizer. Eric Bausano had three goals and seven points, Rastello had five assists and Levi Erkkila had four goals.
The Wolverines next game is Saturday at the Calumet Colosseum at 7:30 against De Pere (2-10-0).
