Bombers and Bears take down Wolverines on road

2019-01-20

The Calumet Wolverines lost a pair of road games over the weekend, falling to the Fond du Lac Bears 5-3 Friday night and West Bend Bombers 7-3 Saturday night.

The Fond du Lac Bears continued their winning ways over the Wolverines as the only team Calumet couldn't beat during the 2017-18 season jumped all over Calumet Friday night. After a period it was 4-1, and the Wolverines couldn't climb back in.

Jimmy Brey had three assists in the game, while Josh Harju, Logan Rastello and Ed Beiring each scored. Ryan patrick made 28 saves in his first loss of the season. Saturday the Wolverines jumped out to a 2-0 lead behind goals from Rastello and Mike Babcock in the first period, but the Bombers scored five straight to take a commanding lead. A late goal by Alex VanWagner helped, but it was too late.
