Wolverines now 8-1 after defeating Eagle River and Marquette
2018-01-21The Calumet Wolverines defeated Eagle River 7-3 Friday in Calumet and Marquette 7-6 Saturday at Lakeview Arena in Marquette to move to 8-1-0 in league play and 12-1-0 overall. Calumet’s next game is at home on Saturday, February 3 against the Fond du Lac Bears.
On Friday night Logan Rastello had two goals and four points while Josh Harju and Rory Anderson each had a playmaker as the Wolverines downed Eagle River 7-3. Ryan Patrick stopped 31 Falcons shots to earn the win in his first game since December 2 at Fox Cities.
Saturday night Calumet faced quite a challenge with the 7-1-0 Mutineers at Lakeview Arena, but the team was up to the challenge. The game was tied at 2 after one, and the Wolverines owned a 6-5 lead after two periods. The Mutineers tied the game midway through the third, but a late Cody Carlson goal gave the Wolverines the win. Rastello, Anderson, and Ed Beiring each had four points, Harju had three points and Ian Carroll earned the win in net.
