Calumet Wolverines thank fans, volunteers and sponsors for support
2017-04-13The Calumet Wolverines Hockey Club would like to thank everyone who helped make the 2016-17 season a memorable one. That includes the thousands of fans who stepped foot in the historic Calumet Colosseum to cheer us on.
The crowd during Gibson Cup Game 2 was particularly impressive. As Bruce “Cukie” Coppo told Daily Mining Gazette reporter Paul Peterson, “We haven’t played before a crowd like that since the mid-1980s.”
While we’re thankful for the fans, we’re even more proud to thank the many volunteers who helped at our games us this year. That includes Linda Fredrickson, Mary Kay Grabig, Karissa Butkovich, David Coppo, Josh Ylitalo, Joe Panijan, Mary, Courtney, Lexi and Jade Babcock, Shelley Lucchesi, Luke Mattila, William Stahl, John Carroll, Glenn Patrick and Trustin Rajala. These volunteers are what keeps our adult amateur hockey team sustainable.
The final group of people we’d like to thank are the businesses and organizations who help financially support our organization by sponsoring our team. Most of these companies are ones we count on year in and year out to keep our team financially strong. We hope our players and fans will be sure to support them when they can. Those sponsors include McCabe Distributing, Bucko's Party Store, Doug Anderson Logging, Columbia Linen Service, Center Ice Skate & Sport, Copper Island Printing, Darnell Construction, Erickson-Crowley-Peterson Funeral Home, Jim's Pizza – Calumet, The Loading Zone II, Pat's Foods, Paul Lehto, Red Carpet Systems, RC Mechanical, Rocky’s Bar, U.P. Engineers & Architects, White House Inn Bar & Restaurant, William Giroux American Legion Post 90, 906 Vapor, Northern Michigan Land Brokers, Mix 93 WKMJ & 920 AM WMPL, Calumet Golf Club, Erkkila Trucking, InSight EyeCare, Rocky's Bar, TV6 & Fox U.P., John Bonvetz, Dave Heinonen, CPA, Daytona Body Shop, Gasoline Alley, Hancock Bottling - Coca Cola, Harter's Party Store, Harter Auto Supply, The Hut Inn, Kalcich Excavating, L&L Bar, Lakeland Luoma Insurance Agency, OHM Advisors, Red Carpet Systems, Superior National Bank, Ace Hardware – Calumet, The Edge Tattoo, ThermoAnalytics, Smart Foam and Auto Pro Glass & Tire.
We’re inviting fans to participate in a survey to help us plan for an even better 2017-18 season. Please visit calumetwolverines.com to take the survey.
