Wolverines begin home stand Friday night
2016-11-29The Calumet Wolverines are hosting the Eagle River Falcons Friday and Saturday nights at the Calumet Colosseum with puck drop set for 7:30 p.m. both nights.
The Wolverines are 2-0 at home on the season, defeating Fox Cities 5-4 and Monroe 8-2 in early November. The hot start was iced down during a mid-November road trip as the squad is now 2-2 on the season, with losses at Fox Cities and West Bend.
Logan Rastello is leading the team and tied for ninth in the Great Lakes Hockey League with six points, including two goals. Josh Harju, Eric Bausano and Jeff Erkkila are also at two goals. Harju leads the team with 14 penalty minutes, a mark that’s good for fourth in the GLHL.
Tyler Junttila is currently No. 2 in the league with a 2.00 goals against average and .944 save percentage. He’s the planned starter for one of this weekend’s games with Bryan Miller making his season debut in the other. Miller went 3-3-0 in seven appearances during the 2015-16 campaign.
The two home games kick off a busy month of December for the Wolverines. Calumet plays nine games, including six at the Calumet Colosseum.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. both nights and puck drop is set for 7:30. Bring cash or a checkbook as fresh Wolverines apparel will be available, and that makes great Christmas gifts!
