Erkkila’s OT winner sets stage for Game 3

For the eighth time in nine seasons the Gibson Cup series is headed to a third game. That’s courtesy of a Jeff Erkkila goal just 44 seconds into overtime Saturday night at the Calumet Colosseum.
The Pioneers once again jumped out to a lead, holding a 2-0 advantage early in the second period, but the Wolverines scored the next three before Ryan Greenley’s equalizer late in the third period to setup overtime.
Game three will be Tuesday night at 7:30 at Dee Stadium.
