Wolverines finish 2015-16 season at 9-15-2
2016-03-13The Calumet Wolverines defeated the Eagle River Falcons 12-6 and fell to the Mosinee Papermakers 5-2 this weekend to finish the 2015-16 season with a 9-15-2 record.
The Wolverines finished the season in seventh place of the 10-team Great Lakes Hockey League.
Logan Rastello paced the Wolverines with 17 goals and 43 points, while Jeff Erkkila finished with 39 points. Both players should finish in the top 25 in the league in scoring. Goaltender Ryan Patrick finished the season as one of two goalies to top 1,000 minutes.
The Wolverines season will continue in two weekends with the annual Gibson Cup series against the Portage Lake Pioneers and the weekend after that with the GLHL Tournament in De Pere, Wisconsin, where the seventh-seeded Wolverines will play the Pioneers and Fox Cities Ice Dogs.
