Offensive outbursts lead Wolverines to opening-weekend split
2015-11-08The Calumet Wolverines started the 2015-16 season with a pair of double-digit goal games, including a 13-10 loss at Marquette and 11-3 victory against Monroe at Calumet Colosseum.
The Wolverines got two goals each from Josh Harju, Tyler Froberg, Tyler Loukus and Byron Parks Friday night. The game was the Iron Rangers first in team history. The official scoresheet will be available at calumetwolverines.com later this week.
Saturday night the Wolverines jumped out to a 5-0 lead midway through the first and won all three periods to defeat the visiting Monroe Blues.
Justin Scott had a hat trick in his first game with the Wolverines, Logan Rastello tallied six assists and Josh Harju had a goal and three assists. Bryan Miller earned the win, stopping 25 of 28 Blues shots.
