Eric Bausano scored a hat trick and the Calumet Wolverines netted a season-high seven goals, but the team lost 8-7 Saturday night in Eagle River to fall to 0-5-0 on the young Great Lakes Hockey League season.
Alex VanWagner scored two goals, and now leads the team with five on the season. Levi Erkkila and Logan Rastello each had two assists and Ryan Patrick made 56 saves in losing effort.
Calumet will play a home-and-home with rival Portage Lake next Friday and Saturday nights beginning at the Calumet Colosseum.
